The greatest blessing of working for the parish I grew up in is the constant comforting experience of déjá vu. Every Mass is infused with the memories of all the choir members, the organists, the priests, and the congregations of the preceding decades joining together in endless waves of prayer.
O God, who wonderfully created the dignity of human nature
and still more wonderfully restored it,
grant, we pray, that we may share in the divinity of Christ,
who humbled himself to share in our humanity.
